Welcome to
the Saraswati Puja edition of e-Sanai. This is the auspicious day when our
beloved Master, Sri Sri Babathakur came to this mundane world to impart the
Science of Oneness/Knowledge of Oneness to us, worldly souls so that we can
make progress towards attaining our True Nature. In this editorial, I will
highlight some key points that our Master had pointed out in a discourse titled
“Veda and Tantra”. This discourse was delivered at Chittaranjan Park Kali
Mandir, New Delhi on November 6, 1995.
Our Master
categorically points out the fact that the Supreme subject, our Atma is present
in each and every one of us. We can reach that state of our true nature purely with
the guidance of a Sadguru (one who has realized his True Self and hence knows
the path to the end goal) and through our self-efforts. This reality cannot be
achieved through a time-bound course (as offered by institutions from time to
time) or by paying money. He also points out that we reach this peaceful state
every day when we go to sleep – wherein our mind, brain, ego are at rest.
A Sadguru is
one who has realized His true nature. We are extremely fortunate to have come
in contact with our Master who has realized the Knowledge of Oneness/Oneness of
Knowledge. He has repeatedly emphasized that the same One Supreme Being resides
within each and every one of us. We can get unified with that same Oneness
through Samabodh/Aponbodh/EkBodh. He further points out to us that
Samabodh/AponBodh/EkBodh is already present within us – it just has to be
awakened. This awakening happens when we come into association with a realized
person and carefully listen to His words. The velocity at which we will reach
our goal is dependent on our readiness. He likens this to how a magnet
magnetizes a piece of iron when they are in close proximity.
He goes on
to state that while the atomic bomb has the potential to create destruction, it
is meant to create harmony and peace in this world. He also states that the
Knowledge of Oneness/Oneness of Knowledge can cause the death of death, meaning
that the sense of ignorance (which covers our true reality) can be removed. He
provides us with another lucid example in everyday life. When we see a cow, or
dissect a cow we do not see either milk or butter. However, the elements of
nature produce plants which are then consumed by the cow. The cow eats the
plants, digests it and milk is produced. Once the milk is churned, we obtain
butter. So, there is a scientific process of producing butter from plants and
cows. Similarly, when we engage in tapasya according to the path shown by our
Guru, we will reach that state of Oneness – which is the Supreme cause of
existence for each one of us.
So, on this
auspicious day, let us try our best to repeatedly listen to our Master’s words
(and get magnetized), reflect on them, apply the knowledge in our everyday
life, and reach that Supreme state of perfection from where we all came from!
Joy
Babathakur! Joy Babathakur! Joy Babathakur!
